Fractal Trees
The Fibonacci spiral: an approximation of the golden spiral created by drawing circular arcs connecting the opposite corners of squares in the Fibonacci tiling.
How to interact:
- Regenerate: Create a new random variation
- Toggle Box: Show/hide the underlying square grid
- Restart: Reset the animation to the beginning
The algorithm divides space using Fibonacci numbers (1, 1, 2, 3, 5, 8, 13...), with each iteration creating smaller rectangles following the golden ratio φ ≈ 1.618. This spiral appears in nautilus shells, sunflower seed patterns, galaxy arms, and many other natural formations.
